TCNA’s Product Performance Testing Lab
In addition to the wide range of tests already offered for
tile, dimension stone, and installation materials per ASTM, ANSI and ISO
standards, TCNA’s Product Performance Testing Lab recently added several new
services to meet the tile industry’s green testing needs:
- Photocatalytic testing
- Antibacterial testing
- Expanded fungus and microorganism testing
- Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) testing
- Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) testing
Additionally, as use of large format tiles has grown
significantly, TCNA recently obtained a device capable of measuring dimensional
characteristics of tiles up to 5-½ ft.!
TCNA’s lab
will also soon have full ISO 13007 grout and mortar testing capabilities, which
will allow the lab to provide testing services to grout and mortar customers on
an international level. This service should be available in mid-2010.
Stop
by TCNA’s booth (#2816) to speak with the TCNA lab about these and the many
other services we can provide.
TCNA Green Initiative & Green Web Site
Now, more than ever, concerns for environmental
sustainability have the attention of consumers, architects, and designers.
This
year at Coverings, the theme in Tile Council's booth and within much of the
North American Pavilion will be "Tile – The Natural Choice." TCNA
will be handing out copies of its informative green brochure titled
Tile
is The Natural Choice, which outlines LEED contributions and
other inherent environmental attributes of tile and related installation
materials.
TCNA
will also direct show attendees to its new Web site,
www.TileTheNaturalChoice.com,
which fully integrates the North American tile industry's environmental
messages.
In addition to being loaded with information on LEED, CHPS, ICC-700,
and the industry's general environmental contributions, the site contains a
green product locator and links to a wealth of green articles and
presentations. Whether you are a homeowner, architect, specifier, or member of
the general public, a visit to this web site will help you to better understand
the tile industry's place in the spectrum of sustainable building materials.
