 | Restored Scottish tile mural brings street scene back to life
Glasgow, Scotland-based 6274 Public Art was recently commissioned by Riverside Inverclyde to bring a much-loved street mural back to the town. The original tile mural from the 1970s has been replaced with a new mural that depicts a street scene of Greenock in the days before the construction of the town's Oak Mall.

 | One-of-a-Kind Chandelier Features Thousands of Mosaic Tile Pieces
Paul Pearman is an accomplished mosaic artist, who works out of his studio in Augusta, GA. One of his most recent creations is an incredibly intricate, one-of-a-kind sculpted chandelier, which is suspended above the lobby at Georgia Health Sciences University’s new College of Dental Medicine.

 | Tiled world map graces California children’s hospital lobby
During a recent renovation, a sizable pre-cast terrazzo tile waterjet-cut map of the world was installed in the main lobby. The rationale for having this 37’-diameter world map mural was to offer a brightly colored, interesting-looking floor that would welcome all visitors, patients and hospital workers upon entering the facility.

Wedi Corp. presents the wedi Fundo Riolito, a prefabricated tileable
shower system designed to drain water through a narrow gap between the
cover plate and adjacent tiling. Featuring a linear or channel drain,
the Riolito is available in three cover plate finishes in high quality
stainless steel. The system is designed to drain at 16 gallons a
minute, offered in 3" by 5" and 4" by 6" sizes, and ideal for

 | Revestir 2009: a Bright Spot in a Gloomy Global Economy
Expo Revestir, the largest ceramic tile and stone trade show in Latin America, saw a dramatic increase in attendance this year despite the current difficulties in the global economy. Overall attendance for the four-day show is expected to reach 40,000, an increase of 12% over the previous year. On the show floor, many manufacturers´ booths were filled to capacity, while long lines waited to register for the event.

 | UNICERA Trade Fair celebrates 20th year with record-breaking attendance
The 20th UNICERA Ceramic and Bathroom Trade Fair, held in
Istanbul, Turkey, recently, hosted more than 60,000 attendees, a record for
this event, say organizers. Compared to the first show held in April 1988 with
100 square meters of space and 8,500 attendees, the 2008 exhibition had grown
to encompass more than 40,000 square meters with from more than 170 exhibitors.
